Who doesn't know what gas smells like, from lighting stoves, etc.? They bought a used dryer, hooked it up themselves (I assume...), noticed a smell, & lit a candle to get rid of the smell?

I guess I'm fortunate to have had a father who did everything possible himself. Any time he worked with plumbing, electrical, gas, or whatever, & I was watching, he explained what he was doing, why he was doing it, the dangers involved, etc. As a result, I'm probably overly cautious when dealing with such things. My house hasn't blown up yet.
