I have to disagree with you my friend....if very slight winds were able to blow biden over ( I refuse to even give him a capital B ) I think strong winds could do that or....maybe even blow all the water in the oceans off the edge of the earth because we all know that the earth is flat.

Jack up the containers, one at a time, put pipe rollers underneath them, and push them off. Rinse and repeat. Even if the first few come crashing down on the deck, eventually, they'll start sliding off the first few that were stuck on deck, and fall off the ship into the water, where they can be drug to shore.

Alternatively, get some heavy lift helos over there and start pulling them off that way. It's been 5 days and, to my knowledge, no one has even tried to offload anything. Clearly digging and tugging isn't going to work without lessening the footprint of the ship in the bank of the canal.

Or, get some of Elon's SpaceX rockets out, strap them securely, horizontally on top of a bunch of icebreaking ships, then use the rocket power to push the stranded ship.



Edit II: Just get a few ol' boys from Texas with 4x4's and winches to yank that sucker out.

They're supposed to get big tides soon. The helicopter idea was suggested but they actually think the digging/tides/tugs will work sooner. They brought in one of the best salvage companies in the world, so we'll see.

A logistics expert was asked yesterday on a news program how this ship blockage of the canal will effect the USA. He claimed barely a ripple. The Suez is used by Europe , the Panama Canal is used by the USA.

Today on the news it was claimed that 40% of our imports come thru the California ports. The problem is ships are backed up like grid lock on the freeway. The ships can't be unloaded fast enough.

A huge container ship has blocked the Suez canal causing a 100-boat tailback after breaking down while transiting one of the world's most-important shipping lanes.

The Taiwan-owned, Panama-registered MV Ever Given drifted across the entire width of the canal before becoming jammed around 7.40am local time on Tuesday, with its bow lodged on the canal's eastern wall.

The vessel - one of the world's largest at 1,312ft long, 175ft wide and with a weight of almost 200,000 tons - was part of a 20-ship convoy and was around four miles into the 120-mile canal heading north when it lost power.

GAC, a global shipping and logistics company, described the Ever Given as suffering 'a blackout while transiting in a northerly direction', without elaborating.

But the Taiwanese company which owns the vessel - Evergreen - blamed a freak gust of wind for blowing the vessel sideways, after which it got jammed.

Experts said the stuck ship would then have lost power and its ability to steer.
