I wish you all the best .

Your life parallels my cousin's. He lost his wife to cancer 6 years ago and he compensated via boats, Harleys, trips etc.
Loneliness sucks, as you know. I told him that there is no need to torture yourself flying solo.... This after a good 4 years went by...
It took him 5 years, but he now has a girl as well.
Everything I do is for my wife. I can't imagine losing her and wanting to even get up in the morning. Everything happens for a reason so maybe your best times are ahead..... Let's hope so.
Pics of wife?

She called me up this afternoon, we had dinner and just hung out.
Set up some plans for Friday.

Good on you. Enjoy things more now.
I remember you telling me that. You and the rest of the Barners were a real source of comfort during that time. At the time I couldn't imagine ever moving on. It's like time just stopped for the past five years. You telling me about your experience Johnny, had an impact with my decision to move on. I never forgot about it.

Actually, Lori wasn't my wife. That was the plan; we were just waiting for her daughter to get out of school. I was more than willing to go ahead and tie the knot when we found out she had cancer, but when we found out she was terminal, she wouldn't allow it. She didn't want me hurting any more than she knew I would be when she was gone.

I was offline so long because my mom was sent to Hospice, we were pretty much waiting for her to die, and by chance we found out that she wasn't being given her Lasix, which keeps her lungs from filling up with fluid. She recovered and got sent back home, but it was a rough time. The COPD will eventually get her but she has some time yet.

Look, you're just going to have to level with this woman that your large, extended, disfunctional internet family is demanding pictures, and that it will just be easier to go along with the program. She'll find out about us sooner or later anyway.

Congrats, it sounds like you have found a truly wonderful woman and now doubt that Lori is looking down with great satisfaction

Had a loss in 1975 which nearly destroyed me. Fact of the matter was, I didn't WANT anyone new. What I really wanted was not possible, so I muddled along not giving two flips about anything. Not much fun, but I really didn't care.

Fast forward 7 years. Met someone new. I wasn't looking, but, there she was. We started very light and things just seemed to come together on their own. Can't imagine being without her now.

#1 still holds a place in my heart, and always will.

Hope all works out well for you.

edit, I looked again, and her pix there is in many ways similar to my wife's pix when standing on the beaches here in Florida, I glance up on the wall here, and same long curly hair, outdoor/water type scene, sun in face, and a grin....

We went out to the "farm" late yesterday afternoon to take some pictures. She's into photography too. She's also into wine making, and she brought a bottle along that she had made. Well, it got too late to take any pictures so we just had the wine, spread a blanket in the field and just watched the fireflies and stars. Talked the night away and didn't get home till 4:00 this morning.
I might have stolen a kiss or two, or three...ahh hell, we made out like teenagers!
