You can buy the upper and lower assembled and still get them separate if that's your thing. That way you can get exactly what you want as far as barrel twist/length, sight configuration, stock, trigger, finish, etc.

Yes, those are great guns but for me, so many dang hunters around here won't shut up about their Creedmoor; therefore I could never admit to buying one.

if i was starting from scratch, i'd give the 6.5 a long, hard look. really nice ballistics (compared to the 30-06 i know so well).

but i'm trying to avoid one more caliber being added to my vault.

i'm pretty good on rifles, long range, medium range, short range, bolt action, lever action, semi-auto.

the 9mm carbine is really interesting. shot one earlier this month (part of a pistol match) - zero recoil, very fast back on target.

i'm also taking my semi-auto shotgun out this week to break it in properly and learn to use it well. little 20GA, 5+1. neat gun. but does it need a big brother? like a Mossberg 930?

pondering.....

Egyptian Military Hakim 8mm Semi-Automatic Rifle.......don`t see these at the range much.....just missed at auction.
Hi Point 1095TS 10mm Carbine. I don't like their pistols but this looks buyable! good reviews and warranty. Dealers send all kinds of weapons back for warranty, very few hi-points......on sale $300

My dad has a 930, he loves that thing.

Being Semi-Auto, it soaks up some of the punch when shooting slugs and what not. Fun dingin steel at 100 yards with slugs too.

Sounds like you're a little low shotgun count. Better bring that up.

I sorely regret not laying out the cash for an L1A1 when I had the chance. I'd buy a good condition M1 Garand in a heartbeat, if I found one.

I have had the HP Carbine in 9mm, .40, and .45. The 9mm was the best shooter on the bunch. With a simple red dot fifty yard head shots were easy and very consistent. A friend did a digital camo job on it. Should have never sold that one.
Top is the 995 in 9mm. Middle is the 995 in .45. Lower is the .40 with a CX4 stock.

I have to admit that I'm a sucker for surplus firearms. I have one of these, and it is a damn nice shooting pistol. The finish on the one I got is very nice, and it shoots like a dream. And for less than 200 bucks, it is hard to beat.

I vote 9mm AR style carbine before they increase too much in price as the high school activists approach voting age where they might actually effect some change if some other cause doesn't distract them in the meanwhile. I recommend utilizing a standard (5.56/.223) lower and a metal adapter block so you are not limited to just the single caliber. Want a .300 Blackout later? Back the 9mm adapter out and swap uppers... wa la new gun with no FFL required since the lower is already yours.
