and it appears that every time i go, there are fewer hairs to trim, and yet she still charges the same amount.

Some settling may have occurred during shipping. It's the same reason bags of potato chips are only half full these days.

I did the math on what I was paying at SuperCuts versus how long it took them to cut my hair. Since the stylist wasn't nearly cute enough to justify lawyer-level hourly rates, I started cutting my own hair.

I don't have that problem either but my oldest son(45yrs), has been shaving
his head bald for 5 years now....he loves it.
