My wife just txt me from ISP airport on LI. The flight from PBI was met at the gate by 35 wheelchairs.

At least some people try to plan ahead.

She only has 80 people on the return flight to PBI.

Left Amelia Island this AM. Last night I made the decision to drive the Vette back to STL rather than leaving it in the JAX parking garage. Took Becka to JAX for her flight home. Appeared to be plenty of spaces in the garage but i bet it fills up by Friday.

I wont get home until tomorrow. Friday my BIL and his GF are flying to STL to stay with us. They both live on AI also

Hopefully this thing passes far enough East of us. NWS briefing at 17:00 for NE Florida and Southern GA

So far it seems like we'll be OK on my coast. Obviously that can change at any time. Fingers crossed. I have a ton of friends over in Miami/Lauderdale, and very worried for them.

We left the Omni on Amelia Island yesterday morning. I took Becki to JAX so she could fly home and I drove the screaming yellow zonker home rather than leaving it anywhere down there. They were already starting to stack sandbags by exterior doors at the Omni.

Just got an email this afternoon that mandatory evacuations for the entire island commence 6:00PM Friday. Once sustained winds over 45 mph are occurring they shut the bridge to the mainland and even police/fire/EMT do not return until given the all clear.

I hope we still have a house to retire to

Hope so too man.....that is a nice place there, been through it when I moved here....best of luck on that.....

I took advantage of the Labor Day sales at Publix on Miller Lite. Buy 2, get one free. I have 9 12-packs.
