Default Navy Requires All Sailors to Undergo Transgender Education

Oh yeah, THIS should help slowing retentions.

Navy Requires All Sailors to Undergo Transgender Education by July 2017 - Breitbart

by Katherine Rodriguez18 Sep 2016

An all-Navy message sent out Tuesday says that all sailors will be required to undergo transgender behavioral education by July 2017.

Starting Nov. 1, the training will educate sailors about the Navy’s new transgender policy that allows transgenders to serve in the military, Military.com reported.

“This training will emphasize policies and expectations of personal behavior,” the message states.

It is unclear what exactly is in these training sessions yet, but the Navy will soon send out messages with more information.

In the meantime, leadership is putting together a commander’s tool kit that will guide training, said Lt. Jessica Anderson, a spokeswoman* for Naval Personnel Command, to Military.com.

“Service members are expected to maintain standards of conduct and treat each other with dignity and respect,” Anderson said. “Training for sailors will be conducted by command triads via mobile training teams or DVD with a facilitation guide if the unit is in a remote area and unable to receive face-to-face training. There will also be webinars for COs to ask questions prior to delivering training to their commands.”

The training deadline is set to coincide with the date that the Navy will start accepting transgender recruits, July 1, 2017.

The military is creating ground rules for servicemembers who want to change their gender while serving and is requiring that all transgendered people use the bathroom** associated with their preferred gender.

Anderson said that leadership will crack down on any mistreatment or harassment of transgender individuals.

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter repealed the ban on transgenders serving in the military back in June.

“This is the right thing to do for our people and for the force,” Carter said at a Pentagon press conference. “We can’t allow barriers unrelated to a person’s qualifications prevent us from recruiting and retaining those who can best accomplish the mission.”

* Spokeswoman? Shouldn't this be SpokesPERSON? (Gender neutral?)

** It's called HEAD. Might be a bit problematical at sea.

No wonder Russia buzzes our ships. So they can point and laugh.

When I was in the Navy, if you fvcked around with the wrong person, they might perform a sex change operation on you regardless of your consent (they wouldn't be all that sensitive toward you either). The surface fleet folks were pretty scary.

While I understand the complications of this subject, I take a broader view.

If you choose to defend this country against its enemies, I applaud you. We should strive to make defending this country a definitive quality among people regardless of their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other defining attribute.

That is all...

While I agree with your sentiment.... I lived on USN ships. Unless they are going to start designing berthing like cruise ships- HTF are you going to provide adequate quarters ? Hell, I think I would have claimed LBGT status if it would have given me my own stateroom.

I thought they've been doing that for decades. Used to call it a blanket party though.

Since you've never SERVED aboard a typical Navy vessel, Let me lay it out for you. Typical bunkroom can have up to 99 bunks stacked 3 high face to face. Typical head is 6 showers,6 shitters and 6 pissers. There is NO privacy. Period. If some chick wants to bunk with 98 other guys-I can guarantee the 98 won't complain. Even Navy issue female ass is better than the other alternative.
Now take it to the other side. Who wouldn't want to be the one swinging dick in a bunkroom of 99 chicks ?
So guess what happens to "special" people ? That's right. Special rooms. Because of the current PC drive- the .Gov will spend massive amounts of $$$ to accommodate a very small group.

The newest CG cutters have 4 man staterooms for junior and senior enlisted, 6 or 8 man for non-rates, and 2 man for O's. (118 crew, 420' cutyer)

So with that berthing assignment, it would work, but our older cutters still have 20 or 30 man berthing areas.

not sure what the new Navy ships are like

Transgender population is estimated (probably liberally) to be .3 percent of the population.

Current Navy personnel is 329,302. That puts a possible average of 988 gender confused he/she's in the Navy.

So how much resource is going to be pissed away to accommodate this PC nonsense?

What other demographic of a third of percent get that kind of priority?

The money spent on this "training" is money the Navy won't have to purchase fuel for the ships, to pay salaries, to maintain the ships, etc. And the time it will take to train everyone is time that could have been used to train sailors on ship firefighting, first aid, cross training sailors on different jobs, etc. But hey, let's do this, whatever the cost!

I guess a simple verbal order from the commander not to harass the weirdo, assuming your ship has one, isn't sufficient.

seems to me that time sitting around getting trained is time not spent on marksmanship.

I'd also point out that you are assuming that the trans folks enlist at the same rate as, uh, what shall we call the normal people....squares? I wonder if there is any research on that?

They just lifted the ban in June and won't start taking trans recruits till July of next year, so I doubt that there is much if any hard data out there. So just a common average is the best number for now.

If the Navy makes it attractive to TGs such as offering incentives (like offering to rearrange their junk for free), then that'll increase the numbers that join. But that doesn't say how many TGs would want to join the Navy in the first place.
