Our NBC affiliate has a secondary movie channel called "This" that show military themed movies today, and general older movies normally. Another local affiliate just started a new movie channel today. I'm not sure which network they are affiliated with, but I understand that the new movie channel (aptly named Movies!) is to be rolled out nationwide, so I am sure DFW has it, too. They also had war movies scheduled for today.

Big assed antenna+Netflix=no need for cable.

I went to the local Memorial Day Parade for the first time in several years and didn't hear one patriotic song. The majority of the parade was bolivian dancers blasting their music from huge speakers on the back of pickup trucks. The local NBC news did a story on the parade and all they showed was the bolivian dancers and a slight mention of it being Memorial Day.
