Eric was a greaser and we weren't buddies in HS. Knew him only casually through my other auto shop friends. Who were semi-greaser but not hard core.
We became good friends when we worked together in 1980-81 in the motorcycle shop. He hasn't changed a bit in 40+ years, either. It's his way or the highway.

Him being a Ford guy and you being a Chevy guy was a good thing because it kept you from stealing his parts and selling them for drug money.
