If the camera didn't make it, you wouldn't have seen the video.

Camera is fine. Housing all scratched up. No biggie. New housing $45 shipped.

NO WIND NOISE.

Hell, I might mount the audio recorder back there. Great exhaust sound.

I guess it's better to work out the kinks around the neighborhood at low speed than at the track at high speed.

The camera housing lens is all scratched up. You can actually see it in the video. The housing did its job and protected the camera. No harm, no foul. I WILL figure this out. That's the perfect place for an audio recording.

Got fogged up a time or two.

Rear panel has too much flex in it if you were using the suction cups. But I guess you already know this now.

I certainly would invest in a safety strap of some sort

I have a tether as well. I will actually have other cameras mounted recording HD at the same time. I'm going to pickup a digital audio recorder as well. The mounting test was more for audio than video, so the exhaust condensation doesn't really matter. I'll find a way to mount the audio recorder back there and then relocate the GoPro somewhere else, as well as the other HD camera in its usual place inside the cabin.

I just think the youtube videos need way more aggressive audio than I've been getting. I think I'm close to that solution.

I used an remote audio pickup hanging out of the rear hatch with a suction cup holding the mike just above the plate for some loops around the Texas Motor Speedway.

I run chambered exhaust and it sounded killer until about 80 + mph when it started picking up wind noise.

I will see if I can find the video.

OBTW......you want wind noise.

I was the pace car for one of the races at the Kansas Motor Speedway.

Here is a video of us entering the track and infield.

Camera was mounted on the clamp where the top clamps on.

Sucked big time.
