Nice, something like that is growing in appeal for me; central Florida has turned into an urbanized mess with no planning; been here since '98 and in the past two days there was a carjacking 3 miles away and the next day some clown tried to kidnap a female landscaper.... Wife and I would hate to leave our Florida lakefront, but the clock is ticking...

We are 60-somethings and recently said fukkitt, bought 33 acres and will start building the homestead ASAP.
Working on house plans now. I may build the barn/shop first. Probably do a little gentleman farming.

I don’t care if the work kills me. I’m done with cities and suburbs and subdivisions. Traffic and people and too many rules, most of which are selectively enforced.
