Don't. I posted it as a good natured joke, OP knows I like him (no homo, NTTAWWT), and it isn't malicious. Anything you post at DJ is automatically going to be seen as mean spirited and unwelcome.

Well, the order was "get to the ER now and I'll meet you there after you are admitted."

Apparently, my BP wasn't too far off from having a stroke and stayed that way until maybe late afternoon yesterday. Not sure what happened as I take my meds daily, cut out smoking a long time ago, and drink only on occasion. I've changed my diet to cut out a lot of red meat, but do indulge maybe once or twice a week instead of daily.

We shall see. Hopefully, there's a chance to get better since the doc didn't order me to be put down like a lame horse.... or somebody with dirt on the Clintons.
Damn dude... Friend of mine is regularly in ER for extremely high BP.
It'll yo-yo... He's on 2 or 3 meds now, again, constantly,...
I told him his back pain and headaches might be at least a good portion of th e reasons.

That's quite a stay, usually he's in and out same day.

Take care of yourself man.

Ummm, just to point out the reality of the situation: there is a WIDE range of view between "I like him.", and "It would bring a smile to my face to hear that he had a hypertension incident so severe that it resulted in a debilitating stroke."

I admit to being in the middle there somewhere, which puts you above a bunch of other posters on the board. So at least you have that going for you, which is nice.

220/180 w/o stroking must be Guinness Book of World Records candidate.

Do you monitor your BP at home. My wife has to do that and her doc makes her keep a record. There are apps that make that record-keeping easier.

And they say to keep aspirin around to take. My wife is allergic to them so she can’t take them.

I’m sure you already know all of that stuff.

Take care,
Steve

It's been much higher in the past, but with being admitted and rated at 100% by the VA, they cover everything. Trying to keep it low enough that I can have the dentist do the work planned for my appointment on tomorrow, but I will see how that goes by this afternoon. If I am anywhere close to xx/110 then he wants to reschedule for next month.

I have dealt with HBP for over 20 years, no diagnosis as to why, docs then default to family history.

Early on while looking for a reason, I had an outpatient procedure, was told no meds for 2 days prior, the procedure elevated the BP to aid their diagnostic test, well they found nothing, but I did spike at 230/190, they thought I would die, I told them I have superpowers and to give me my clothers, I was out of there in ten minutes, by the time I went to bed it was 120/90, all is still fine.

I took a truckload of crap early on that GPs prescribed, I fired a few of them AND then went to a real doc, cardio dood, he took me out six pills, gave me Minoxidil and one other, it worked for 20 years with no issues, well except the hair on my palms and bottom of my feet.

My MIL used to get readings like 240/180 from time to time, and never did anything about it. She also had Type II diabetes, and did nothing about that either. Not terribly surprisingly, she passed away at 70 from heart disease and organ failure.
