I like gas engines. Your stupid government is ruining that state. Water shortages, power outages, trash and homeless all over some cities due to liberal government policies.

Agree. I lived in Tahoe 22 years. Some of the most beautiful hiking in the world. I backpacked many miles of the Pacific Rim trail. Don’t forget a hike up Mt. Tallac!

Most complaints are the long winters. I liked skiing so it didn’t matter.

Where the fk do you get this from, the Media? California has more gas engines, more collectable cars that run on gas than any other state. What power outages? Haven't had any here in So Cal. Water shortages? California has more swimming pools than any other state. Water shortage? HELLO, So Cal is a desert with water in it. A lot of the Condo's here in their HOA you don't have to pay for water or Trash. Homeless and trash in the big cities? What big city doesn't have homeless?
I live in a city with over 200k i don't see trash? Orange County with a Population of almost 4 million people out side of a small area in Santa Ana have no trash problem. You sound like LearPilot.

California just consist of a small part of S.F and a small part of L.A i don't know what the rest is called

True, but if you can't go see the beauty because you have an electric vehicle and the power grid is shut down, what's the point?

Mountains are in my DNA. Ancestors from Scotland, then NC, then into the NE Georgia mountains around 1800. My 4x grandfather fought in the war of 1812. He walked from NC to the NE GA mountains and built a cabin. Fought with indians during the day and worked on the cabin at night. He went back to NC and brought his family into the wilderness and believe me, it was the wilderness 200 yrs., ago. You HAD to survive on your own. No Home Depot, fast food, modern medical, etc...those were men! We have several family stories passed down over time about him. He settled, prospered, and many things are named in his honor there. I wish we had kept the 200 acres of mountain, streams, falls, and beauty in the family.

I would look for something over there, if was to make the move.

4x grandfather

I feel like I'am talking with StorytellerStealth. What electric vehicle? I have two gas vehicles. You know So.Cal has Mountains that you can see without getting in a car or mountains that millions of people live in here.

This reminds me of your posts and responses.

You've limited yourself carlton_fritz from seeing the beautiful Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevada's and the beautiful mountain's in Hawaii. Because those states are run by Liberal's You also have shot down the Alps because none of the countries where the Alps are, are Conservative. So i guess you could go to Florida and see their highest mountain/Hill Britton Hill at the elevation of 345 ft because Florida isn't run by Liberal's.

There is a huge political divide in California- the urban areas vs the rural areas. A LOT of the rural counties are deep red politically. People are generally nice around area. Prices are somewhat reasonable- not as much as when we bought our place 6 years ago. They will probably get cheaper as the RE market melts down.

I'm in Mariposa County. Far enough away from the urban areas. 2 or 3 light snow storms a year. I used to live Livermore in the SF Bay area and the weather is similar.

And Yosemite Valley is about 45 minutes away. Kings Canyon and Sequoia parks aren't too far, either. And the eastern Sierra is pretty nice.

I've spent over 35 years in CA. Most city, but some rural. My birthplace. I love CA. The costs of living there finally outweighed the weather and other really great amenities for me given what I wanted in a primary home for retirement.

ADog is correct that you can live there and pretty much be away from the politics if you choose to do so. You will always pay a premium in taxes and other costs to be there, but folks who think that the homeless/libs/whatever will ruin your life have frankly never lived there. If I had FU money, my second place would be in CA, probably central coast or north of SF in Sonoma county. People that just shit on CA because it's CA probably would not live in Tennessee because Memphis is a shithole.

I now live in CO at about 7700 feet. Guess what? It's a blue state. Taxes and other costs are at a level where I can live in what would be considered a mansion in SoCal. Yes, it gets cold. Some years we get a fair amount of snow, but it is far better than what I had in VA winters where the people an government shit bricks at the mere mention of a snowflake. The snow in the Rockies at less than 10000 feet goes away in hours, if not days. 25 or 30 degrees in sunshine is warmer than 40 - 50 in the midwest and east.

Bottom line is you will likely take away what you're willing to give.

Part of why I asked was the things like taxes or stupid .gov policies. That is one reason I like Tennessee.
