I only frequented the C1/C2 section over there.

I accumulated half a dozen infractions there. Likely that I would have been banned for sure in P&R or the other discussion sections.

Take care,
Steve

I've been chatting with Steve (RatDog) for the past 7 years on C1-C2. He's a good guy.

Speaking of good guys, wouldn't Yadkin make a great moderator??

He's stoic, level-headed, and logical. I think he'd be a natural.

Its easy to do, after 12 years and nearly 58,,000+ posts I was pretty prolific on the C1/C2 side and expected to have my detractors, some got real personal and insulting and I guess the moderators thought I was just supposed to laydown for BS multiple times from the same 2-3 people. The one clown liked to continually claim I didn't do any of my own work after I posted pictures of teardown and restorations of nearly every thing you could imagine; then his little twit followeres would pile on - strangely they mostly dropped off the CF now.

As a data point I'm on Chevelle, Thunderbird, Mustang, Camaro, Dodge, Honda and Toyota forums and strangely - never had a problem on any of them.

I've also been a long, long time member of Pontiac, Toyota, Ford, Hotrod, gun, and antique forums and have only ever had a problem on the Corvette Forum, specifically the C1-C2 section.
Seems like there are two or three moderators over there who have really gone off the rails and are eliminating a lot of members.

Y'know, for the most part, you are an ok guy, but I have to say this Yadkin shit will never allow me to respect your presence here. It's fkng stupid and makes you look stupid. I know you DGAS, but I felt it important to share just the same. Like gay shit on TV, I don't care that it happens, I just don't like seeing it.

Ok, that's why I didn't recognize your name here.

I was only on C6 Gen, C6 Tech, P&R, and OT -- which is the only one I frequent now.

I've been online since 1994, on countless forums, and I never got so much as a warning on any of them.

Then 3-4 years ago a CF mod on C6 General thought I was out of line and gave me the big warning and a spanking. **** that shit, nobody has ever spanked me except my father.

We went back and forth a few times on PM and I finally said piss on all that. I signed out and never went back to CF at all for a year or more, til somebody emailed me or something (Pat's Garage?) wondering if I was still alive.

So, I'm still on OT . . . for now.

She's got the right color! My '07 is Monterey Red and looks great. Women especially love the color. I was never interested in a bright red Vette, too common.

My BIL asked me in 1986 if I knew of anyone who had a Vette for sale. Actually I did, an old drinking buddy/workmate of mine had a '66, stuck in the back corner of his garage, unloved. My BIL paid him a visit and bought it.

It's a '66 base vert, blue, unrestored but had a fresh engine in it, basically no miles on the engine.

My BIL gave him $6,500 for it, and he still has it. He's 82 now and I think his 56 year-old son has it most of the time now. It will be his when my BIL passes away.

Good story and I agree with you about not preferring bright red. You have a good color. My wife’s car is crystal red metallic. She wouldn’t have bought a bright red car. She had 2 other requirements. It had to be a convertible and it had to be a stick shift.

There’s no way you BIL could buy that car for anywhere near $6,500 these days. Love to hear about great cars staying in the family. Here’s my ‘67. I’m 76 and my son doesn’t want it when my time is up.

I'll take it. Hell, I'll even attend your funeral and say nice things.

It’s a deal. You’ll probably be the only one there so you can sit wherever you want.

Send me adoption papers and I’ll sign them.

Take care,
Steve

Nice car!

I think Crystal Red came out in 2008. It's a bit different from mine, but not by much.

LOL @ $6500! I looked up his basic car, an unrestored driver, a few years ago and they were in the $50k range.

Wow, that's sad that your son doesn't want it. My nephew is a gearhead, like his dad and like me.
