UPDATE....I was going to go pick this up Monday but there has been a change in plans...While directing traffic last night, I 17 year old new to driving young lady, decided to run me down with her Jeep.... The only thing hurt on me (besides my ego!) is a pulled back muscle. The young lady with here back facing the camera and the Jeep on the grass are the offenders...

Soooo....I had to move the Gasser pickup date to next weekend.

For ****s sake zeek, you’re gonna let a little car running over your ass derail your plans? Damn I thought you were indestructible.

I built an original LS7 short block into an internally balanced, 468 fire breather.
ZL1 cam, D-port aluminum heads, ported and valve seats sunk as deep as we could. We sonic tested the walls, to go .125 over, but found one too close, and went .060 instead. I angle milled the tops, and finished CC'ing all the chambers within 2 tenths of a cc. The whole bottom end was balanced with tungsten welded into the journals, a L88 15 lb nodular iron fly wheel, and balancer, were all neutraled out. Compression came out to 11.87:1
My good friend that helped me for the 14 months this project took, was modified champion at NE Dragway back in the 70's. He raced a 68 L88, that he bought new. The car was turned into a race car before long including tubbing, solid axle, alum. firewall, etc, etc.
My goal with the LS7 was to have it better than the L88 spec. I think we made it. I could pull the gear without hurting anything at 7,500, and I saw over 8 grand once on my error, but no issues. There are still 2 people that live near me, that were in the Corvette with me when the tires were still spinning at over 100 mph. Something like this would be incredible in a Gasser!

That is quite impressive.... I understand that the LS7 is a badass engine, but I want an old school Big Block Chevy engine mostly for the looks and of course the performance. Im building this car a mostly a street hot rod so the bbc has a nice combination of impressive looks and good perfomance.

Original LS7 is from 1971, give or take.
Here are a few snapshots I had pinned on my cork board.
The first and 2nd are from the build, and you can see how much porting work was done.
The person in the pic was a funny Car mechanic back in the day.
The last shot is the compete car after the color change.

Edit- I don't know why the pics only showed up this way. Let me know if I need to retry?

Not "back in the day". The new / current LS7 could be considered a small block compared to the old school engine.

Stone Mountain area can be sketchy. Stay alert and aware of surroundings and who you are dealing with.

Nothing really all that special but I had rebuilt this 390 cu in engine way back in '95. It's been hanging on the stand and turned occasionally by hand for decades now, just hoping to find a nice rust free body....It's a complete rebuild from crank to heads. This motor came out of a '64 T Bird that I attempted to do the body work but finally I sent it to the junkyard....All that's left to do is the carb and drop it in!

One of those, I'll get to it one day projects!!!!

Im not concerned about the seller of the vehicle, but....after I made my reservation from U-Haul for the car trailer, I notice the name of the company is Black Nation.....I wonder if there are any companies called "White Nation"?? Gonna be holding a big wad of cash too....

You're worse than the hoarder!

Ya know, I'd have to agree in most cases the 390's were anchors.... but this ones been tweaked! Heads, pistons, rods, etc all high HP! Fasteners are all Stainless and the paint is all powder coat.

I just seem can't find a clean rust free old Ford to drop it into......
