Added a few more hangers, and added High temp sealer to pipe joints.

Have a good day everyone.
Going to go to local auto body shops and try to collect a decent amount of boxes and packing material.

Hood/doors/deck lid etc will need to be secured. We will probably put some of it in the back of the tundra and maybe in the car.

If it was me I'd rent a uhual box truck for return trip. Maybe get wood build crates and supports for panels. After items wrapped spray foam may be needed to keep from jostling around. With your luck it'll be pouring and unable to hual in truck bed or things get ruined. Tarping a load for rain damn near impossible.
It would make life easier as all bits go in box truck or even a small enclosed trailer, you'll have enough things going on to worry about. Lots of ratchet straps and rope to secure everything in box truck too. Everything gets strapped or screwed down so doesn't move and get damaged.
Might be easiest and smallest to build shelves of wood put and secure doors to and maybe hood on top. Hoods for those get damaged shipping alot.
Strapping any pianted surface even with foam can easily result in damage to paint. The should be secured from the back. Those doors are so heavy and they're going to move around/bounce.
Moving blankets, plastic wrap, thick foam etc should all be used..
Downside to a trailer is the ride harsh and bounce unfortunately...
Not gonna lie.. Getting all those parts that far home undamaged will be difficult I think.

So, I am having to make an unexpected emergent trip to NC to gather things, load them in the trailer and haul my unfinished car back to OK.

My understanding is the car is painted, but none of the parts have been put back on the car. Interior has not been touched.

Not sure if it is feasible to mount while we are there or if best to wrap up and just bring home.

Needless to say, will be in NC likely next week. Just waiting on the word from his wife and buddy to head that way.

If anyone knows a good tire place in Charlotte, I need to get 4 new tires mounted on the trailer that is also still there.

1st world problems.... my hubs is done dealing with "these cars" eek!
I am terribly sorry to read this. You and Tim deserve much better. You have waited a very long time to have your Vette restored and now this. If there is anything I can do to help you when you get back into town, please let me know.

Morning TouringMike.
We are in a drought and are in need of rain. The good news is it is supposed to rain tomorrow. The bad news is that is when my golf game is scheduled.

Did some yard work, took Jimmy apart. Power steering cooler blew so ordered a universal to put on.
If not raining all day tomorrow actuator gets changed in Merc. Down to routine maintenance hopefully th en and maybe new tires for merc if I can find a deal on a pair. Heading to man mall this week see what they have, usually they have pairs cheap and good condition. And cheap.
If he's up to it going to take to Henry Ford Museum in a week or so. Zero stamina and won't get in a wheelchair ever so may have to smack some sense into him for that trip. He's afraid if gets in chair means he's going to die basically... And it scares him. If we can get over that hump I'd be able to take him alot more places... Dumbass.
