How much were you paid....
Think back to some of your first jobs....how much were you paid? I used to work for local farmers when I was in my mid teens....most paid 50 cents an hour back in the 50's...I told one guy I wouldn't go out for less than a dollar an hour....he wouldn't pay it......so I got my dollar an hour from someone else, namely the guys father-in-law.....I would've liked to have heard their conversation about being a cheap bastage.....

$2.10/hr as a bus boy at a Dairy Queen back in Amarillo. I quit there 9 months later to go sack groceries at Albertson's for $3.10/hr. I was making big $$$ then for a high school kid.

I started working at a car wash when I was 14. I made $3.25/hour. When I was 16, I made basically the same amount hourly, but I was also on commission for collecting the money from the customers and up selling spray wax and white walls. I was bringing in over $500/cash per week (on TOP of my paycheck) as a 16 year old. This was in 1984.

I born in '44 Wash DC burbs, one car family, age 10 or so dad got me my ONE bike...a 26?" Schwinn single speed....much too tall for me....
never could find a paying job in that suburban climate....stores innundated with their own kids and so when outta HS and off to college, the folks moved to 20 miles ONE way from town....killed me as a PT worker and college 'student'..... all the money went up in gasoline....and dates/beer....which is why I learned hotrodding and mechanics... my first job...1.25/hour age 19 in the DC burbs....min wage at the time 65 bux/week take home.... by the time I retarred, it was a rare day I didn't have 1.5 grand on me at any given time....cash....piss on credit.... oh well, funny trip, fun times, crazy existence.... next life....

$1.85 hr working as a janitor at a private school when I was 14. I used to get off of my public school bus at the private school to go to work for four hours a day. Gave my paycheck to my mother to help pay the bills.
