Where can I find this part?
It goes to our old Craftsman drill press:
Not available at Sears/Craftsman and ebay. As you can see from the pic, the spring broke and probably can't be fixed because it's spring steel. |

Many drill presses use that type of spring. Find some other brands of similar size & see if you can find a spring for them on ereplacementparts.com. If you find one with close dimensions, it'd probably work.

Is the Craftsman drill press early enough manufacture that it's US built? If so, join over at OWWM.org and post a wanted ad in the "BOYD" section ( Bring Out You Dead is the sale/wanted section )
I'm "Jeff in Pa" over there |

Thanks Jeff for that link to the site. I'll have to bookmark that one. I spent some time there doing different searches but nothing comes up for this spring. I now have the other dimensions:
0.220" in height (7/32") 0.052" thickness That one that goes on a Ford may work, but it only has the diameter of the spring. Here is the link for the diagrams from Sears: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/mod...ll-press-parts The part ins in Figure 2 part #35 Spring torsn, Part #817415 |

I was going to suggest looking on another Craftsman drill press
