We are coming up on the anniversary dates this w/e. I have been fortunate to participate in the 135th and 150th reenactments that drew tens of thousands reenactors and visited there multiple times. Rent or buy the movie 'Gettysburg' based on the book 'Killer Angels' sometime. It's as close to the real thing H'wood will ever do or has ever done on any civil war subject. They used reenactors and filmed most of it near G'burg on private property. They go way overboard on the 20th Maine, but the majority of it is true to the real battle(s) that made up G'burg. |

Here is my photo of the Lutheran Seminary where the cupola Buford looked out onto the field from and part of the first days battle. Also, the famous M. Brady photo was taken from this spot a few days after the battle.
