By the way, if ya wanna buy my electric mower I'll sell it to ya for a good price. Dang, all and all I paid over $600.00. I got frustrated, and hired a maintenance crew.

The push to EVs is because of the push to tyranny. You will have limited mobility because there (purposely) won't be enough electricity produced, or they will simply activate the kill switch on your vehicle, which all vehicles will be required to have in a few years. It's already a done deal, as I recall.

They are regulating IC vehicles out of existence, by making regulations so ridiculous that no manufacturer will be able to comply with them.

It's a global Marxist revolution, disguised, as they always are.

The part of my property that I need to mow is only about 1000 sq ft and my gas mower was a 22 incher. My electric one is a 21 incher, self propelled and came with 2 batteries (86 volt system) and a rapid charger. I've mowed when the lawn was wet and had to mow more than 3 inches of grass (1st mow of the season). One battery almost made it so I just swapped 'em.

Normally, 1 battery is more than enough

Okay. So that works out perfect. Nice.
One benefit I forgot to mention is the fact that you can mow late or early, and not really disturb neighbors.
Here's my cruiser. Maybe in 10 years it will STIHL be runnin' ...

The debate shouldn't be over IC cars vs. EVs -- other than as a personal preference.

It should be over: Do you like government forcing you to do or buy things, or do you favor liberty?

I wouldn't expect much of a debate over one's hand being forced to do anything, really. Freedom is all we at the end of the day, and it is more precious than gold. It's what we do with it that affects and has effects. Just one dude's opinion.

A majority of people (and all liberals) can't even define "liberty." When the manacles and leg irons come, figuratively (and maybe literally too) they'll still think they're "free."

Because it's being done in the name of "It's good or healthy for you". Liberals are not so much interested in cause and effect, as in cause and affect.
The quote by Henry Louis Mencken is of particular interest to me, and I'm sure others. That quote could ignite a very interesting conversation, but I'm not pursuing that one... just yet.

Republicans, including Trump, should be talking about this type of stuff 24/7 instead of constantly talking about 2020 and lawsuits.

Yes, you would think there would be a united effort to push the country and the world forward instead of pulling it back. We are, after all, supposed to be the "United" States.

I have a Kobalt 80v self propelled. 1/2 acre lot minus the space for my house. I can cut our thick St Augustine grass on one 8Ah battery, it’s great. Have the leaf blower, hedge trimmer, pole saw, weed eater and edger as well. Great home system.

So you require no additional batteries? The one 8Ah fits each piece of equipment? If the battery is interchangeable, that's awesome! It must have cost a pretty penny, eh?
Dang, I'll hafta head "eastbound and down" to check that out, C'mon.

Every property on my street is 120' x 120', about 1/3 of an acre. A few years ago, a guy down the street bought the "top of the line" electric mower on sale, so it included TWO batteries for it. After a half season or so, I asked him about it, as I have gone to electric hedge trimmer, string trimmer and chain saw, and was wondering if that thing was ready for prime time?

He said "sort of". If the grass isn't too long, or too wet, he can do one half of the lawn on the two batteries. So during cutting season, he gets up early on Saturday, and cuts the front, puts the batteries on charge, and late in the afternoon he can cut the back.

I would actually be OK with that, since I often cut my front and back lawns on different days, if and only if, I could get rid of my ICE leaf blower. Without the leaf blower, I would no longer need to screw with mixed fuel, and without need for gas for the mower, I would ONLY need to stock gas for the generator during hurricane season.

Discussion of whether or not there is an affordable electric leaf blower that would do even half my lawn on one charge is what got me my most recent moderation on CFOT.

Funny, I started too late cuttin' my front one time and plugged the battery back in to recharge for the back. It was almost pitch black while I was cuttin' the back with a little flashlight between my teeth.
You may have to go gas for the leave blower, or hire an outfit.

Bingo. Liberals think freedom means freedom from responsibility.

I have a 2 cycle backpack style leaf blower that works just fine, and I am retired (plenty of time to do it), and in decent physical condition (it's no problem for me to do it), so no need to hire someone, well, at least not yet.

I would like to stop playing with mixed fuel in my shed, which I would do if there was an acceptable electric leaf blower. If and when I got there, I would be OK with an electric mower, even if it meant cutting the front and the back on different days (I am retired after all).
