14 hours at the track today...I'm so tired.
And today is only FRIDAY...
170 competitors in our SCCA National Tour ProSolo event. FWIW, my race Z06 was 0.2 seconds faster to the 300-400' line (I didn't measure) than any car in the field....Extremely fast cars were running 4.3 seconds, most were 4.5 to 5.5 seconds to 300 feet, I ran a 4.0.....AND that's not the car I'm racing.  We're talking all wheel drive, tube frame racers, you name it...Z06 pummeled all of them.  ProSolo has the drag race start, and I did some in the BRZ that I'm racing. Had to change my cadence for sure between the two cars, but it was fun to run mine. Once the launch is done and the tires hook up, it becomes like it was shot out of a cannon. The acceleration is mind boggling. |

Which BRZ are you racing? I see that there were two (2103 and 2014) entered in the ST-X class.

14 hours again today, and we had a 3 month old 1LE Camaro SS go through the fence HARD. Car might be totaled. VERY VERY glad we just put an 8,000# winch in our club's trailer. Already had my Z06 loaded, had to unload it, drive outside of the track to the neighboring neighborhood and drive through waist-high grass with the truck and trailer. Almost got stuck, so looped around so as to not get stuck and pulled the car up onto the trailer backwards.
Tundra had parking brake on, and a person with their foot on the brake and the winch pulling the car onto the trailer actually pulled the whole truck/trailer assembly a few feet while we tugged at it. Hell, even the metal trailer frame was flexing. Racing was good...I'm the fastest driver in the BRZ.....NOT on BF Goodrich Rival S 1.5's. Those are the new fairy dust tires. I can't win, but I should trophy. Car owner even has a brand new set of those tires ready to go....for next weekend in Georgia.  I hung with the top 3 cars in the morning session by only 0.2 seconds, so all good, and still learning the car. Blew the car owner away by over 2 seconds. In the afternoon session, the racing surface was much hotter and their tires really came alive. They left me in the dust...game over.  It's all fun though.

 Fortunately, in this race format, anything can change...at the end of the event, your best left/right times are added together. Everything else doesn't matter. The website is wrong, the guy currently in 1st is also on BFGoodrich tires.  |
