Think we have a stack of Summit Racing catalogues and Harbor Freight ads lying around here somewhere.

Not sure how soon I'll be able to get out again. My chromally axles and locker are out of my Jeep right now - getting ready to pull the plug on new PCV axles, E-locker and 38X14.5 Mickey Thompsons or 39" Pitbulls.

I doubt the Jeep will be ready for the May 12th night wheeling sponsored by the Bridgeport VFD. But I'd really like to make the June 9th / Bridgeport LSJC Powder Puff run. Women drivers only but the men can ride along if they can keep quiet.

But you sell the old parts to help funds the next parts. And NEVER buy new - someone is always upgrading something.

That was in late 1978 or 1979. I seriously doubt there is anything left other than the memories. That and the want to NEVER own another Jeep.

With no offense to the OP or her son, I thought I wanted a Jeep Wrangler. Good Gawd! I test-drove one....the decibels at 50 mph in a soft top are just painful!

I was 19 when I got that thing. I got tired of being wet when it rained, hot when it was hot, cold when it was cold and one winter sitting in my carport at home there was 3 in. of snow in the passengers side....with the top and doors on. Sorry I liked my wifes MGB and my 81 Vette better. Got rid of it for a 1980 F150 Lariat 4x4

It cranks! But the seats and stuff are now in my garage. He has ordered a gas tank. The original was very rusty. He bought it locally.

None taken! And I told him I thought he was an idiot for buying it. He wanted it for a project. His daily drive is an F250.

I had a '76 CJ-7 with a 304 & 3 speed. I buried the speedometer going UP a steep hill around here ( Sumneytown Hill for the locals )

I credit my Jeep with getting me in the habit of wearing my seatbelt Between the bench seat and being about 6', if I didn't wear it, I smacked my head on the hardtop on every single bump

Same drivetrain but in a CJ-5 on mine. Man, talk about twitchy! Several turns around corners scared the crap out of me when it went on two wheels! And a rough freeway was ALWAYS exiting...

...my GF refused to ride in it when she whacked her noggin on the roof after a speed bump.
