Apple Details "Mountain Lion" Mac OS Update
Apple Thursday revealed the next generation of Mac OS X, to be known as "Mountain Lion," and released it to developers. The software will take on Microsoft's Windows 8 when it arrives later this year.

The software, version 10.8, will arrive via download. Like its predecessor, Lion, Mountain Lion will further shrink the gap between Mac OS and iOS, incorporating more iOS features into the Mac interface.

New features include "Messages," which will replace iChat, as well as further integration with iCloud.

Two masked thieves in January stole more than 50 iPads from a Texas Best Buy just after the store closed. The thieves broke into the store through a metal roll-up door and went straight for the iPads, local TV station KSAT reported. The customers, according to surveillance video, "dropped a few on their way out the door." A nearly identical incident took place in Sarasota, Fla., last week, as "several" masked men broke into a Best Buy through the rear door and stole electronic equipment.

Porn DVD Stolen
At the very same Downers Grove Fry's location, a 19-year-old man was arrested last month and charged with stealing an adult DVD, Downers Grove Patch reported. The man was seen removing the DVD from its package and placing it in his front pocket; he was caught while attempting to leave without paying and charged with retail theft. The same Patch site reported that a different 19-year-old, man, also last month, was arrested at that Fry's for trying to steal a graphics card.

NFL Player's Guns Stolen From Best Buy Parking Lot
A truck belonging to a professional football player was broken into in the parking lot of a Charlotte Best Buy, by thieves who stole four guns from the vehicle. According to WCNC, the truck belonged to Carolina Panthers linebacker Kion Wilson, who had stopped at the store on the way to a shooting range.
