Need help...Tundra related
So GWiz and Patty just got back home last night from Georgia Tech. They took the Tundra, got packed up and home with no issues. This morning I backed it out into the street so I could mow the lawn. When I got back in to pull back into the driveway to wash it, the shifter doesn't work.
It's a column mounted shifter ('07 Tundra). The shifter physically moves, but the gear never changes. It won't move out of park. How do these things work? I replaced the shifter cable in my '06 Coupe, but not sure how these column mounted things work. |

Turns out to just be the plastic piece on the end of the shifter cable. I can shift the transmission manually, but I'll have to get a replacement part. I do believe it's modular, so only a 6-8" section needs to be replaced. |

You bought the Tundra for reliability ? I’ve never had a shifter issue on any of my GM trucks. And I keep those for 20 years each.

Chevy's have their issues such as brake/fuel lines rotting away and rocker panel rot.You can say rotted frames on yotas but at least they replaced them and didn't go to court like GM to stop a recall on their lines.

Ain't that the truth. My 99 Silverado lines rusted through right above the gas tank. Thank God it happened when I was at home.
