About the same here also, from looking at the images I see on the net, it is going south of me and north of you, heading north west but the bad stuff will miss us here.


No problems here for us, we have seen worse.

So far they have not even shut our power off here which is unusual, usually they turn it off during about any storms as most of the electric wires is just strung from one coconut tree to the next, and if one would fall it can be dangerous.

Many times you can just reach up and touch the wires if you wanted, too much trouble to climb up higher I guess..

Not passed here yet David.. but sometime later tonight, or early morning, I will prolly be asleep when it happens (I hope).

It is still only 12:37 AM here now...

Things have calmed down here for now, so guessing not too long as the winds will reverse sometime tonight and be coming from the back instead of the front when the storm really hits here as it will be behind my house, and not at the sea side.

We get about 20 of these a year so no big deal really, Most seem to miss us and go north of us.. the last big one that hurt us (as in our island) was Typhoon Frank in 2008. (dang that was a bad one )

It is kinda like Russian Roulette but you don't get to decide when to pull the trigger..

My situation here has been made as safe as it can be in advance, most all trees that are tall and dangerous to break that could hit my house have been cut.

I am not worried about landslides here as I am on flat land way away from the hill, these are the two things are the most common that cause problems.

Tsunami would be a real problem if it were to happen, as I am only about 4 feet above high tide here, but as far as I hear that has not happened in over 100 years so I will go with the odds.

We got woke up at 1 am this morning by the security guards at our home. We were told to prepare to evacuate our homes..

The river behind our complex had risen over 10 feet and getting ready to go over the levee..

They finally evacuated everyone except for a couple of us that would watch the river level...

It crested about 1 foot from the top.. and then started to recede... now its about 4 feet down from earlier...

Looks like we escaped this close one....
