Geting out of the Army rant...

Man, these mofawkers make it harder to out process than they do to actually stay in. They f*cked up my terminal leave papers and suggested that I may have to come finish out processing after I start terminal leave (when my orders say I'm done with the Army). NFW!!!!!!!!!

It better be fixed tomorrow (which is the last day I can do this stuff) and or phone calls and letters go out to elected officials. It's not like I sat on my ass, procrastinated, and waited untilt he last minute to get this stuff done. Iw as ready to finish it on Monday (5 days early) but still had this same problem I'm dealing with.

Dammit. I will be a Civilian come 16 MAY 2011.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that I've gone out of my way to do my part and have it done with plenty of time to spare. The unit is screwing me around and then I'm told I might have to finish out processing during my terminal leave? I can't believe the HR assistant (civilian) even had the balls to suggest that). It's wrong on sooooooo many levels. I'm also wondering how many other soldiers this has happened to because this needs to stop and be squared away immediately.

I remeber checking out of the Marines. Some of it I got to do at sea since I only had three months to do so once we hit land. I hated every second of it. I t blew my mind how I knew almost every aspect of my job which was very complex, and those who were checking me out didn't know shit when it was so simple. Took two months to check out.

The kicker was I had to be out of the barracks, by midnight when my terminal leave started. WTF? All my hard work and sacrifice meant shit. GTFO or the MP's would escort me off base. It was an honorable discharge under my own chosing to leave. Also took me 4 months to get my travel pay from the day I Started terminal leave.

Well, most of our clearing is done for us in the Warrior Transition Unit. Fortunately, the new system we have puts us in the VA system when the Medical Eval Board is started so my benefits kick in 30 days after my final day in the Army (final day is in June). I also have a nice job lined up on Ft. Hood (contract work) lined up for the day after I get out since us officer types can't work while on permissive TDY or on the job site while on terminal leave. Yes, I sold back almost 60 days of leave so i could get to work A.S.A.P. because I really do hate sitting around with nothing to do during the day.

Makes sense. If you are getting a medical or some other type of boot (Just a word) don't expect anybody to give a shit.

With as many Congressional inquiries against the WTU system as it is, things get noticed quickly. I'm not saying that's what I will do. It's not a threat, promise, etc... but it is just a statement of fact. Believe it or not, many things are changing and it's unfortunately taking oversight from much higher up to make it happen, it seems.

I went on terminal leave for a month when I split. About a week before my ETS date I got a call from my CO telling me I had to come back and sign some medical papers. I told him I was already a thousand miles away, he told me to come back anyway. I never did and never heard from the guy again.

When I outprocessed, I had to get signatures from the base library and base supply that my account was clean. I had no fricking idea where either was...
