water storage, North Florida

I am building on some property outside Live Oak, well will be drilled next month, need to find a water storage answer that won't break the bank. I am looking at something around 500 gallons, but everything I have found the shipping will almost double the cost
Ideas?

I don't know anything about Florida wells, but do they typically not produce enough to directly supply household needs? Meaning you need a separate storage tank and have the well fill it slowly off and on and then draw off the storage tank as needed for home use?

You should have a storage tank to pressurize the water. I have never seen one that is 500 gallons.

Well yeah, everybody needs that in order for the system to function (I'm sure you know this, but it pressurizes the AIR ABOVE the water).

Mine is 10-15 gallons, been there since 1997.

Underground cistern (spring fed).



Tractor supply has some large water storage tank vendors.
You may be able to pick-up from the store and avoid shipping costs. Local building supply store might as well.

Not sure why, my SIL lived in Live Oak for 35 years on a well and septic; if you need water during a storm then fill up a bath tub like we did decades ago during hurricanes. There is a Lowe's now where 10 drops down into the Jasper/Live Oak area and you might inquire there.

At any rate, congrats, its one of the few areas of Florida left that hasn't been overrun with NY, NJ refugees from big city life - you prob have another 15-20 years before that happens - but it will.

i have a 3,000 gallon tank behind the guesthouse, two 2500 gallon tanks at the shop, and a buried 2500 gallon tank that supplies the house directly.

well has been dead for many years, and city/county water lines don't come out this far. haul about 800 gallons from the public bulk water station (fill your tank with a fire hose basically) about every 10 days.

if the rain water tanks (above) are full enough, then i use that water for a bit.
