Default Raced one of these today!!!

1 of only 300 sold in the US. $135k (but closer to $200k when you buy it). 493 HP, 3300 pounds, 0-60 in 3.4, 190 mph top end.

Effing amazing car, but STILL wish it had a manual transmission. Chassis was fantastic.

He came back today, and I took 2 more laps. This car is ****ing amazing. Right off of the showroom floor, including tires, I beat my own time in my Subaru BRZ STX class car which is typically in the top 3 fastest cars at the track.

I ran a 61.4 second lap in the BRZ, and a 61.0 lap in the M4 GTS. This guy pulls off a 62.64 lap (with cones) on his 5th lap. Screw the cones, those can be fixed. In 13 years of autocrossing, no single first weekend autocrosser has EVER come that close to my time. Most students are 5-10 seconds behind me. He owns a car dealership in Michigan, and is no stranger to road racing, but has never autocrossed.

I like the car, and obviously it will perform, but for me, it looks too much like a run of the mill BMW for that kind of cash. I would have to find a nice used Lambo or Ferrari if I was going to pay that much. That said, I'm sure it was a blast to drive.

I'm with you. Having said that, I truly appreciated it on yesterday's course. In the BRZ, the manual was a challenge. Autocross is SO violent, and without a race seat and harness to keep you planted in your seat, you are often wedged against the door in a turn when you would normally need to be blipping and down shifting. I strained my lower back yesterday in the BRZ in the sweeper yesterday attempting to get back down to 2nd. On subsequent laps, I did it in a different, less optimal, place. I can see it being amazing on a track, but in no way shape or form could I stand daily driving it.
