I got no advice from my dad because i didn't have one. When i turned 12 my mom married an ex LAPD policeman that got kicked off the force that hated kids. He mentally abused me. My mom growing up in an orphanage with 12 other brothers and sisters that were dirt poor didn't haver much of a clue on raising kids. I was street smart at 9 years old and paid for it learning things the hard way. Went through the drug scene in the late 60's left home in high school then got drafted during Vietnam at 18. Came out at 21 angry but even more street smart. I never got any advice to help me out. By the grace of God i made it to 25. By turning to God and listening to his advice I've raised two children by myself that both became very successful and college graduates where i have no diploma. I retired in my 50's financially set, lived by the Beach for the last 26 years and did what i wanted to do for work. My bodies banged up a little from the Military and sports but God's blessed me. I feel as though i've lived 100 years. I wish i could remember more of my childhood.

We had a protester in Lake City Florida the other day. A young black man who moved here from Atlanta. I don't know how many people were there. He had a tough time talking loud enough and he did not have a pa system. The local police let him use theirs!

Wow, thanks for sharing that. I suspect most of us have some idea of what somebody here is like and how they grew up based on their posts, and most are probably not close to reality.

I don't know how to capture it and post it here, but I just saw a video someone took, of a police pick up truck and officers unloading or picking through BRICKS in the bed of their police truck !!!
