rounded the corners, very slight chamfer on the edges. applied my brands, and first coat of finish. 2 more coats tomorrow, let it soak in real well.

used a 1942 half dollar for the radius on the corners.

you will want to visit homey depot or lowes and get a bottle of that butcher block conditioner i'm using. it's about 10 bucks. use it to renew the finish whenever water does not bead up on the wood. directions on the bottle. the initial treatment uses quite a bit of a bottle, later applications only need a little to refresh things, so it should last quite some time.

Will do! I was about to ask what type of finish you were going to apply.

I see they have Howards conditioner and oil. Your recommending the conditioner, correct?

yup, same stuff shown in the pic.

beeswax, carnauba wax, mineral oil. food safe, soaks in.

The rounded corners is a nice touch and makes it easier to handle as well, I think.

just talked to a good friend locally, he asked what i've been up to lately, told hime working on a cutting board. sent him a pic. he looked at it while we were still talking, and remarked that "it was too nice to use"...sigh.....

second coat of finish on, soaking in very nicely, and a glue up for a little something extra.

directv was supposed to come by between 8 and noon to fix their receiver, waited and waited, no show. called a nice man in India, said they had "low capacity", and rescheduled for tomorrow, same time frame. sigh.
