Default Sooo... weekend plans changed dramatically
I took the dog out Saturday late morning, and got hit with massive pain in my chest. Went away, but came back in a couple of minutes along with cold sweats. Wife said I looked like I'd stepped out of the shower. I mentioned to her not to panic... but best roll me down to KaiPerm's ER ASAP (they're only 4 miles away). Sure enough, when I get there, admissions nurse took one look at me and said "Get a wheelchair and page the Cardiology Unit!

Sooo... two days later... I feel great, am at home, look like a human pincushion, and have a pack of meds that looks like a small pharmacy. Thank God for good Health Insurance. Seems I'll be taking a couple week unscheduled vacation and some Cardiac Recovery Therapy.

Ya never know... I feel damned lucky.

Glad everything is okay. For now......

None of my business, but did they come to a definite diagnosis of what happened? I almost lost my mother in 1998 to a massive heart attack. She had symptoms of heart trouble but her shitty Dr. never ran the right tests.

I don't mean to be negative, but I have learned not to just trust doctors and take their word as gospel.

STEMI (acute heart attack). Got into ER in time, or I wouldn't be typing this. Aortic stent... good times.

Glad to hear you're still on this side of the dirt!

Six years ago, I had chest pains, and got to ride in the ambulance. On the way, they were treating me as if I had a heart attack, but I wasn't responding. Turns out, I had a pulmonary embolism. Could have been just as deadly.

Would you be so kind as to detail any symptoms that you had prior to the event for us stiffs that are approaching that "age" ?
Also detail the symptoms that you experienced during the event so that it may help one to recognize what is happening to them, like you did.
