Yes, even people of pallor have used that colloquialism. Also used: Space City, Clutch City, and the Bayou City.

I'm not a hard core Astros fan, but it's nice to see the city have something positive to rally around, especially after the destruction of Harvey. Kind of reminds me of the Rockets threepeat years ago.....the mood in the city is just better.

Threepeat? I was living there when they went back to back in 1994 & 1995. They were on fire, Phi Slamma Jamma! The very next year they changed their uniforms & logo, as well as traded 3 players that were clutch in those championship winning games for Charles Barkley, who was well past his prime. Idiots. Rockets haven't been back to the Finals since.

Definitely agree that the Astros have given Houston something to rally around, which is a very good thing.

Speaking of uniforms, I never was a fan of the "shooting star" Astros logos they ran from 1994-2012. I was really happy when the Astros went back to the old "star with the H" logo I grew up with.
