That's one county over from me, and the sheriff is a friend of mine. He fired the deputy today for that stupid, heartless, cowardly act, after conducting an investigation and has referred the results of the investigation to the prosecuting attorney to determine if they will file charges against the piece of crap.
One of the neighbors carried the little dog to the vet, and spent $2400 on her- a gofund me site has raised over $3k for the little thing's vet bills.
