Medical Student Expelled for Questioning Presenter at a "Microaggression" Seminar

One poor woman surgeon recounts her horror at being called 'honey' by a patient with liver disease who just had a transplant. She's still not sure about the long term damage she suffered from that.

These are doctors and med students here. Being openly critical and questioning at a lecture on 'microaggression' gets a student kicked out of school.

Now show how many leftist students have been expelled, suspended, or even mildly chastised for totally disrupting a conservative speaker of any sort. Not asking questions or demanding evidence, totally shutting down the entire thing.

UVa has gone all to hell. I am a lifetime member of the UVa alumni association, and crap like this makes me wish I had no association with the school whatsoever. Wow...

Like I said..I'm embarrassed. And yes, I will be firing off a letter to the President of the University. I listened to the audio, and essentially the university is saying that anyone with an opinion that slightly differs from theirs is an enemy. There is no reason on God's green earth for that guy to be expelled. And "micro aggression"...seriously??? That is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard in my life. Crap like this is why our country is in trouble. UVa's alumni magazine had a bleeding heart article about that dumbass Otto Wambier the other month. His stupidity got him killed, and I don't feel sorry for him, or his stupid parents, who more than likely funded the trip.

Here is my email to the President of the University of Va. If and when I get a response, I will post it.

Dear President Ryan,

I write this letter in regard to the recent expulsion of a UVa medical student, for commenting, and asking questions during a "micro aggression" seminar. I find it very troubling that any type of civil discourse at the university, is met with such hostility, and consequences. It has always been my idea, that time at a university is used to express ideas, broaden horizons, and above all, learn.

Has the University of Virginia become so fragile, that opposing thoughts of any type are muted? I'm afraid it is a sad commentary on the mindset of many in America, and I'm deeply troubled by it.

I listened to the audio of the interaction between the student, and the lecturers, and found nothing offending. Can questions no longer be raised, or are opinions merely a one way street? I also felt that the response by Jim B Tucker MD, Chair of Academic Standards and Achievement Committee, was not in line with reality, nor the interest of the university community.

While I'm sure you are well aware of this situation, as a long time donor to the university, I'm urging you re-examine the punishment of this student. The punishment certainly does not fit the "crime" in this instance, and stifling the education of someone that could possibly do great things in the field of medicine no less, is not justice for the student, nor the university.

I anxiously await your reply regarding this matter.
