Default Vehicle question
I hate asking about vehicle maintenance on a car forum, but...

Tell me about ceramic coating.

Tell me what I can use to protect a black vehicle from brutal Texas heat and sun. (Parking inside is not an option)

Tell me a safe interior protectant. I used to use Armorall decades ago and it destroyed my dashboard eventually.

Basically what would you use if you didn't have a C4 ?

Check out McKees. Used it on DD and works well. Like the SiO2

They have a ceramic kit. I bought leather interior kit but to damn cold to apply now. Will try on wife’s car first before others

If not old standby Lexol for leather always works

Aerospace 303 for the interior. It has an SPF factor just like sunscreen.

checkout Zurich shield. they sell it to you, apply it, then call every three months to reapply. my black truck has it since new. water rolls right off and it stays cleaner imho. I have had several black vehicles. you can also use quick detail spray between washes.

Do they prep it for application (polish/wax/claybar/whatever) or do you do that and take it to them?

they did claybar, I did nothing. I got their whole dealio, paint, window treatment, interior. they guarantee windshield replacement if it chips. I drive a lot and get a lot of window chips on the shitty nj roads

Does it have clear coat?

I looked into DIY and professional awhile back. If you use professional quality products a DIY can screw it up. The best thing is keep just keep a coat of wax on it.

Send me a PM. A buddy of mine deals in this stuff and will be coating Das Boat in a few weeks. He estimated a 10oz (maybe 20oz) bottle would do four coats top and bottom easily and he'll sell it to me at cost.

One of the guys here at work had his new Gapper done with two coats, but the guy washed, clayed, buffed, etc...before applying the ceramic and it cost him about $1200
