Ha! They replaced the trout in the streams with sharks, rays, and penguins


Thanks. Ripley's Aquarium in Gatinburg. Bear and other shots driving over to Cades Cove. The park rangers will keep you 50-100 yds. away from a bear and I agree they should. If a bear injures someone they kill it. They do a great job of keeping idiots from getting too close to them. Several of us happened on this one before a ranger showed up. I kept about 20 yds. away from her. Of course, some other idiots showed up and were getting too close for comfort taking pics with their IPAD, smart phones, etc...A ranger showed up just in time to make them give her some room.

Stayed at a pretty neat place in Gatlinburg, this time. Kind of dated, but tucked away over looking the small mountain river with a private balcony. I was tempted to sleep out on the balcony just to listen and sleep to sound of the moving water over the rocks.

My Wife and I just got Back from Gatlinburg last Thur. from a three day trip had Cabin up in Mtn. we even had Bear and her cub come buy on the last day , Great place for a get a way not much on walking down town but do come out to eat , and take drive through the Mtn. Be back in Sept. to meet up with some Friends from Fl. for a three day weekend , this time will be taking vette ,

About 3 hrs. from me. I've been going for over 25 yrs. There is the Grand Rod Run in Sept. If you have never experienced it. Thousands of old cars and trucks. The downside is the traffic and crowd. If you aren't into that. You may want to check the exact date and avoid that w/e. It is bumper to bumper traffic all through PF, and spills over into Gatlinburg. I usually rent a cabin, but decided to stay closer to town this time. I had a cabin one year with a wrap around deck. About 3am one morning there was a bear out on the deck getting into the trash I don't understand why the cabin owner didn't put the trash cans away from the cabin. I was closer than I wanted to be to it

YA Here ya about the bears , My wife and I have been going down to Gatlinburg every year for last 37 years for are Annv. it about 4 hrs from us , not bad drive ,my wife family from the Knoxville area , been down for most of the car shows like doing that , also go to the Dragon, Spring and Fall and stay over at Fontana Village , The Shopping thing I;m not much into, LOL but do let better half do that ,

Gotta' keep her happy I drove through the new 'Island' thing in PF. Paula Deen, Jimmy Buffet, and others have new restaurants there. I bet you won't be able to get within a mile of it during the Rod Run. I'd like to have a room with a balcony (on the Parkway) for the Rod Run. People always book them early though and I miss out.

That weekend will be up in GreenTree Resort , Gatlinburg, off 321 free stay for three nights hard to pass up ,friends are members ,for what ever it is LOL

One of the free magazines had pics of GB and PF from the '50s in it. Boy did those places change! I bet there wasn't too much there when y'all started going?

It was little slower back then , the wife can tell you more about what it look like back in the early 60's when she was a little girl , last 7 years we been taking rides over on the NC side finding some really neat little towns and some nice twisty roads to run , it makes for a nice day .some pic from are cabin

I would like to go over to Maggie Valley and see 'Wheels Through Time' motorcycle museum. I'd also like to take the train ride sometime - Dollywood, I think. So much to do! I never have enough time for everything.

The Wheels Through Time Museum ,is great place to check out, took car group with us second time had great time ,
