Default Fuel tank location

I know the fuel tank is just under the back floor in the coupe but I'm wondering how far under the floor. Is it actually touching the floor or is there any space between them and if so, how much?

Thanks.

Dont know if this helps or not, but here's a couple pics of a C5 with the rear tub removed. The tanks are located directly behind the vertical panel behind the seats. Drilling or screwing into that panel is a big (People have made this mistake by using screws to attach roll bar hoops).

The flat floor of the tub is safe for the most part, just use the shortest screws you can, as the fiberglass tub isn't very thick. And keep whatever you're mounting between the frame rails if you can.

JB Weld that bottle bracket to the floor pan. Don't be "screwin" around back there!

I wasn't going to screw the bracket to the floor, I just saw a write up that suggested using short screws to hold the board down while the adhesive dried. I didn't like the sound of using screws so I just put a bunch of weight on the boards while they dried.

I did think the tanks were partially under the rear tub though so the pics were informative.
