Police Chief Adrian Garcia said he decided to add the decals in response to recent attacks on law enforcement personnel that have received broad attention, including the Aug. 28 killing of a sheriff's deputy who was shot 15 times at a Houston-area gas station.

Take the stickers off the car, take the Bible out of the courts.

Religion has NO PLACE in government or law enforcement.

Not everyone is Christian and it's time Christians learn to live with that.

I am an agnostic theist, I believe there is a Creator, I just don't believe that any of the organized religions are in any way connected to that Creator. Religion is a construct of man, not of the Creator.

LOL at whiny cry-babies who equate an age-old motto "In God We Trust" with govt. establishment of religion in violation of the constitution.

Nothing more than culture warriors who don't like our culture and think they can use the constitution to assault it.

Govt. establishing an official church violates the separation of church and state. Instituting a tithe would do so. Telling you what or how you worship would do so. Religious education in public schools would do so.

Cops deciding to put that famous motto on their cars in a show of solidarity and response to the wave of cop killings does NOT.

Jesus. Everyone's a ****ing cry-baby these days.

Says who? You? Certainly not the constitution. Certainly not the laws of most states.

Our constitution DOES provide for freedom or religion. It also provides that the government cannot pass laws "respecting an establishment of religion."

Jefferson's "wall of separation between church and state" doesn't mean we all have to conform to the will of a minority of cry-babies and pretend religion doesn't exist and also refrain from ever even mentioning it in any public capacity. The man himself often brought up religion in his public and elected capacity.

Some cops put a motto on their car and you'd think we'd become a theocracy and instituted bible courts and made congress answer to the pope the way cry-babies react.

It amazes me how people GROSSLY misinterpret the Constitution and amendments to it. Not by inches, but by MILES.

That's exactly how I feel about it, BUT, you overlook history and tradition in our countries. Even if religion is bunk, and it is, I can overlook these examples because of these two things. As long as nobody is pushing it down my throat it's cool. Just don't come into me house and make up new rules.
The I won't go into YOUR house and try to make up new rule either.

What is wrong with everyone feeling like the govt or law enforcement represents them?

Nothing, but don't eschew tradition and history while doing it.

As kids we said the lords prayer and went to sunday school, and it's made me realize all the concepts of the teachings. While I don't go along with all the dogma of religion , the lessons that i learned should be learned by all. Maybe we'd treat each other better then.

Because tradition and history are always pleasant, nice and never, ever mistaken or detrimental to harmonious living amongst the populance.

You know in history, it was traditional to sacrifice animals to God, and that's, Big G, little od. So where's that shit today?

People grew out of it, it fell out of fashion, "old testament" as they say.

Time for this "free" country to allow a massive section of its people to feel like their government (we the people, by the people, for the people) represents them, has their interests in mind...

So we should take every reference to god out of all government document, historical or not, and maybe like Isis in Syria, destroy all the evidence of historical religious monuments or churchs, etc.?

No. That is not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that to truly represent The People, the govt cannot favor any one religion, it must accept them all, and the only way to do that is to not mention any.

It is the only logical way that we can actually be the country we just pretend to be currently.
