I cannot fathom how one human being can do such a horrific thing to another. I'm hard-put to understand how callous a person has to be to even murder another; but this, this is the sheer enjoyment of killing. This is pure hate and sadistic pleasure unleashed without restraint and with full excuse and consent under the guise of righteousness. This is beyond war, this is slaughter for the love of slaughter.

You know, on the one hand, I agree with you Oddball, yet on the other hand, I subscribe to the theory of war that there is only one goal, to win, and that means doing whatever it takes. Killing women, children, farm animals, etc.? Yes, yes, and yes. Do what it takes to win. Do what it takes to demoralize the enemy and sap their will to fight....IOW, out horrible the other side. True religion does not require that we perform any acts to appease our Lord - rather, because of the new covenant, we must simply believe and accept that the Lord Jesus Christ paid for our sins with His own blood because of His love for us.

Let's not forget that the Japaneses during WWII would take captured Marines and tie them to a tree then use them for bayonet practice. And they aimed to maim, not kill. Then they would cut of the genitals of the Marine and stuff it in their mouth and then let them bleed out.

I believe their religion has pretty much dehumanized everyone who is not within it. Similar could have occurred with Nazi Germans; the people they were rendering atrocities against were no longer viewed as humans, but perhaps some kind of animal.

(that is the best rationalization I can come up with to explain inhumane behavior. And a strong warning for anyone expecting fair treatment from the "religion of peace".)
