We did the Harley Davidson plant tour and heading to the fair ground after lunch. Corvettes are everywhere!!

2nd coat of mud in a few places, gotta let it dry before moving on to the next step.

got a haircut (actually, all of them got cut). much mo betta now. no more shaggy dog look.

It's Friday again. Our Vette Club should be getting into Solvang about now. Big car show and lots of wine tasting this weekend.

Had to cancel our reservations due to wifes health issues. Maybe next year.

As is I didn't have enough foot problems this summer, last night I was walking along and heard a tiny crunch in my GOOD foot! (wearing shoes) In a few minutes the pain started. I think I broke one of those little bones in the top of my foot, but from WALKING? Like WTF man. Got it wrapped up and iced it last night, still hurts. DAMN! I can't win this summer.....

mudding is coming along nicely, just put a 3rd coat in a few spots, and then Mrs. DAB went to show me something....and stuck her finger right in the fresh mud. sigh. it'll sand out.

new problem has arisen: there is a mostly buried electrical conduit that crosses the floor near the island and where the double oven will go. feeds power to the island. then chipped out some of the slab to lay in the conduit, but it still sits just a tad high. with the prior thick tiles, you could hide that, but we are considering thinner tiles (18x18 or 12x12), and putting them over that bit of a rise will lead to some complications....sigh. i'll figger it out, eventually.

Use dark concrete grout and leave a large gap where the conduit is??

stupid conduit crosses the main walkway at about a 20 degree angle from being perpendicular to the walkway direction.

i think chipping away some of the high spots, and then using some mortar or self leveling compound to feather out the high spots is my best bet.


arrrgh...why can't people do things right the first time? would save a lot of aggravation later.
