1. Chuck had always wanted a car just like his friend's, Mike. Eventually he located one about 400 miles away; except for the color and some minor options, the car was just like Mike's car. They went to pick it up in Mike's car, but on the return trip the alternator in the newly-purchsed car failed, leaving them with a discharged battery. Although Chuck had a roadside emergency kit and tools with him, they had no alternator. They were still 300 miles from civilization.

Chuck, however, had an idea, and both cars made it home. How? [No tow truck was called; in fact, they called no one for help. You may assume that the car required a battery to run. Also, they even used the driving lights on both cars.]

2. Most cars have one of them, some have two. None have three, but some have four, and none have five. What are they? [Disclaimer: This is from my observation; there might be such a car in, say, Poland. Plus, only stock, from the factory cars, not modified cars.]

3.A car and a van leave from the same point, at the same time, to travel the same journey. The van travels at 48 mph and the car travels at 40 mph. If the van stops after 35 miles, how long will it take the car to catch up?



4. Find a common word that when you remove either the first or second letter, you end up with a perfect homophone of the original word.

5. Imagine two numbers, such that their product is equal to their sum. If so, what are those numbers? Zero is disqualified.

thankfully, they bought the car from a hermit in the Himalayans, and were able to coast downhill the entire trip.

But...it's illegal there to drive a car without its driving lights on.
