Last One For A While
While I find these projects hugely satisfying to complete, sometimes some lengthy research is involved, then acquiring some items that are hard to get, like obscure or decommissioned units patches, etc. Some of the more older, longer veteran's service displays are quite time consuming, especially deceased veteran's of the WWII-Korea era.
This was a dual service display (USA/USAF), I find these most challenging especially with hardly any info to work with. Have none to complete in the pipeline now, I will miss these jobs for a while. Point of reference of cost for these, which of course vary, materials alone for this box were $281. I charge no fee. Still have plenty to do in the garage.

Was that for someone who was in the Army before the Air Force existed (WWII) then transitioned to the Air Force?
My dad was in the US Army Air Corps, but left that after the war ended. He always said a lot of the guys who stayed in after the war ended up being airline pilots later on. |

Attached is an example of an Army Air Corps/USAF veteran who transition from/to during his 20+ years service. I actually did a second one of those for the customer, her two sons where going to fight over who gets grandpop's shadow box. She paid dearly for them too.
