IC Congrats of the new acquisition! I was wondering what it would be. Now MarcC5 and DJ can bust your ass for awhile and leave Joey and I alone.

I had twins at my house the last 24 hours. Nothing like freaking out your neighbors a bit A friend liked my car so much he got one for himself and it was delivered to me I cleaned it up and checked it out this morning before he came and picked it up.

He joined the Barn a few weeks ago as Flylow so please be "nice" to him. I told him y'all are a bunch of great knowledgeable guys.

We'll be nice to him, but what happens when he finds out we're actually a bunch of incompetent jerk offs?

Tell him to jump in and join the fun.

You're not. He'll enjoy the company. I've warned him a bit...and he knows how to use the search function He's also on CF with a similar name.

Thanks

Man...I thought they hijacked threads badly in OT.

OK, so I'm home and happy to be back. Only a few issues came up while driving:

1) Turn signal flashers don't blink consistently. Speeds up and slows down.

2) When I pushed "AUTO" on the climate control to turn it off, it wouldn't turn back on for a few minutes with me pushing the button.

3) Rear end noise. Was not loud at all when I left LA but significant now. I don't believe it has ever been serviced. I'm thinking wheel or carrier bearing.

Very thrilled to have the car and be back in a C4...but holy begeezus belt it's HARD to get in and out of...I don't remember it being THIS hard 10 years ago...

I think #1 is something to do with the "old man who forgets to turn off his signal"
#2 sounds like the CC needs a good cleaning or some soldering work.
The 4th problem is related to the first

1. Bulb or socket with flaky connection, which is changing the load on the flasher. If all are good, the flasher itself.

2. Welcome to the club. Mine has two positions....hot and cold. Nothing in between. The control head itself is likely going bad, but clean all the connections before buying anything.

3. Check wheel bearing hubs for play at 9 & 3 O'clock, and 12 & 6. Also check all 6 U-joints....these make one hell of a drone when they're giving up....and it gets worse quickly. Rear end is unlikely....Dana 44 is tough as nails.

4. You're getting old. If you find the solution for this one, let us know.

And whaddya mean thread hijacked?

Wise ass.

OK...so when I'm at a stop light, turn signal on, I apply a little throttle and it speeds up...let off...slows down.

OH...one more thing...the analog oil temp gauge is off by about 50 degrees. Is a new sender available?

You are lucky to have the later instrument package...the early ones don't get digital oil and water readouts. I think sending units are still available- at least for oil pressure anyways. On my old 95 coupe, I always left it on oil temp.

don't know about the turn signal thing- sounds like a voltage regulation problem, but I'd just try a new flasher.

OK thanks. With the new electronics, I wasn't sure if these cars had separate VR's like the older ones or if it was somehow built into the computer.

Allright that's it...I'm leaving. If I want to be insulted I can call my ex wife for 15 minutes.

Seriously...thanks for the help. I like you guys...and beadist too.

That's what I tell people at work...."If I wanted to be insulted and belittled, I'd sign on to the Vette Barn." (and then I usually do).

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is very sensitive to voltage changes....probably on the way out. Easy fix.

Welcome back to the (Jerry Springer Dysfunctional) family..

Cool....where is the flasher located? I already tracked down an oil sending unit.

Great looking CEs Are both LT4s?

Tell Flylow to chime in, I got all the inventory he needs to make that bad boy to flylow and outside of CA it will fly even faster.

Thanks PLRX Both are LT4's I'll send him this link. He does like to go fast.....
There are a few easy things to sort out and once that's done, who knows? We both thank NCC-1701 for checking out and taking pictures of the car for us.

At the moment, I had it for @18 hours and he's had it for 12. There's time.

Yep the car is working like a champ for me I had it on a couple of levee roads already and it's taking the curves almost as good as my harleys
Will bring it into the hangar this week and really detail it up.
Again thanks for the welcome!!
