HALPS! II: Twitter Embedding Issue Boogaloo

Thanks to our benevolent and wise admins, for fixing the Youtube embedding issue. Any way we can fix the Twitter embedding issue, too?

Twitter links don't show up for at least several of us.....there are literally dozens, dozens, I tell you!

Example:

Nothing, señor, nothing.

I have to open another browser ie. Ghostery to see a twitter link to what Bill states.

All I see on iPad /Safari Brower I use is a blank post……

Billy that is usually a security setting on your browser. If it used to work but doesn’t now, a browser auto update may have changed your settings.

HELL, all I do is hit reply on the blank link/page/whatever, and then the new reply page has the link presented here, click on IT to see WTF was posted.....

What I'm trying to embed:

Several ad blockers will block links to sites like Facebook and Twitter because those sites use images to track your activities all across the Internet. Most likely the problerm is on your end.

I will look into revising how twitter posts embed here, but in the meantime, those of you who see only blank posts, please reply with some details...

What device, operating system and version? (ie: PC Windows 10, iPhone/iOS 16 , etc)
What browser? (Firefox, Chrome, Brave, Safari, etc)
What addons or extensions are you using? (particularly content filters such as AdBlock, uBlock, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, NoScript, etc). Have you tried viewing such a post with all browser extensions disabled? That's always the first thing to try.

I cannot replicate the problem. Twitter embeds display fine on all (7) of my PC browsers, on both Windows and Linux, and both Safari and Chrome on my iPhone. If I can find some commonality in those of you that don't see twitter posts, that would definitely help in figuring out the underlying reason.

Twitter links worked up until maybe a week or so ago. Now, nothing. I noticed a thread about it on the member's only subforum, so there are at least a few experiencing the same thing.

See above. I just installed all 3 of those addons on Firefox, one by one,..Reloading this thread page after each one, and the DDG one is what made the embedded twitter post in your OP disappear.

There is a way to fix this issue without uninstalling or disabling that extension:
From the Firefox menu button at top right, select "Addons and Themes", then "Extensions", and click on the DDG addon. Then select "preferences", find the "Show embedded tweets" option, and toggle that switch on.
I found that still didn't work, so at the very bottom, see "unprotected sites". Just type in thevettebarn.com there, then this site will be whitelisted, and that should solve your issue.

Thanks from me as well. My browser setup was very similar to Bill's and when I disabled the DDG addon it worked as is should. I'll white list this site as you suggest so I can continue with DDG. I suspect this will resolve some instances were a posted link doesn't show up unless I quote it.
