Yeah, we were surprised the stuff was on sale already. 7 piece set, regular $700 for $400? Cushions for the 6 chairs included? Last one? Sold!

Couldn't have done that with a sedan, or even my Jeep for that matter.

We got a couch, rocking chair, all the cushions, and an umbrella with LED lights for $550.

Nice. We picked up an umbrella with LED lights for dirt cheap too.

Having a sedan keeps me from buying things I really do not need. On the other hand, a beater truck would come in handy at times.

as for the SUV crap, who needs it?? want a kid hauler....a 4 door sedan is fine....want to haul the scout troop?? get a 6 door 3/4 ton van like I had, with two removable bench seats, and be able to haul 4'x8' plywood/sheetrock layed flat on the floor between the wheel wells.....

need to haul some lumber in your sedan, get one with fold down rear seats.....so it sticks out a couple feet, cope with it.....

How many pickups have a 8' bed...NOT MANY!!!!

Now the size of a typical grocery getter car.....up to the buyer, obviously....
Really? My 2500 Suburban pulls my 24' pontoon boat quite well, will handle a 7K trailer with capacity to spare and if i put the rear seat back in, will fit 8 people.

Towing capacity with the 6.0L in my Suburban is only 10K. If I had the big block , it's rated for 12K.

My "they are stone SILLY USELESS VEHICLES!!!!! " has great visibility due to having windows that you can see out of.

I can put 4' x 8' sheets of plywood or drywall in the Suburban and close the rear hatch. ( rear seat out and second row folded down )

Plus having a 150 lb dog, he enjoys the room and being able to see out.

Sorry Gene but this time you are RONG!!!!

Well, back in the cave man days when full size cars were the size of trucks and had massive engines, you could do that.
Try pulling that 26' camper today with ANY full size car built in 2017.
If you hadn't noticed, in the 21st century, things have changed...

2017 Ford Transit van (which is lower than the old full frame Econoline) 29" to the ground.
2017 Ford F150 4x2 Supercrew is 34" to the ground.

So if 5" is going to break your back...

the full size window van is much more versatile, by a wide margin...pay attention to the basic type of vehicles the commercial companies use...from HVAC work to telephones, to TV work (not that anyone does THAT anymore) to ease of getting in/out of an actual work bed that is ~12" or so lower to the ground with yout 500 lbs tool box, and buckets full of parts/gear, your silly pickups basically have one spot to get in/out, the side doors make all the difference get to the parts on the left/driver side on shelves/bins and buckets on the floor......ease of access on the side with a step up, but on your pickups, you have that stupid tail gate down ~3' off the ground, then to crawl forward to get anything......

as for ME....BTDT in everything from TV work, through home improvement contractor hauling baths/kitchens/counter tops, tile, concrete, plumbing, and every tool in the book, except a phillips screwdriver......

(to quote an old POGO cartoon on that last quip).....

I used to be shop manager and head tech for a company out in the burbs of DC, the home office was burnt out in the '68 riots....so they shut the doors, no rebuilding.....and so one of the things that ensued after the riots, was the hugely increased crime rates....noticing a commercial vehicle all painted up on the street, and they break in to steal all the parts and tools possible.....after losing 4-5 grand of shit a few times, plus van repairs, it was hard to justify working in some areas of town, so we red lined them.....

10-15 years later, my work van was broken into and they stole every damn tool in the van, except my hand tool box, that I still have BTW, come think of it.... I kept NOTHING on the side of my van, and of course the state of Faryland came up with the home improvement commission edict that all the truck had to have company ID and phone numbers on the side, with the MHIC license number.....WELL that ID was on the van maybe 3 months or so, and some crooks followed me to the HD type store, to discuss an install and pick up some goods to install....

SO, reproved the point, advertise all the crap free for the taking....AND allow the roving housing inspectors spot a truck in some burb, and walk into the joint demanding to see job tickets, and of course TAXES AND FINES for not having all the shit right......

Wrong again, the full size Suburban and Tahoe are built on full frame pickup chassis'

Full size SUV's are basically pickups with finished back ends.

Your obsession with cargo vans is really unhealthy...

This is where you are correct!

For most commercial applications, we sell cargo vans in many shapes and sizes.
Up-fitted with racks, bins, shelves, tool boxes, compressors, ladder racks, etc.

But for my personal use, I'll take a pickup any day of the week over driving a big metal box around...

...and vans are NOT 12" or more lower than pickups

Depends on your definition of 'big'......I had a Pontiac Grandville convertible long ago, a '73 all 5000 lbs of it, filled with helium.......
