I used to hate that as a motor T mechanic we only went to the range on a yearly basis. We once got a gung-ho LT that took us to the field for a week every couple months to practice our Infantry skills and we used to hump for miles. that same LT got us to go on a live fire drill with .50s SAW's M60's, M16's 9mm's and 45's. That was fun! The Okinawans hated us. But 4 years in the Corps and only 4 times on the range. Glad I didnt have to go to Saudi because I didnt know shet.

Read a story long ago about a carrier captain who was required by regs to carry many boxes of copy paper on board. He asked why? I can't shoot the enemy with it!

Pretty comical. I mean, they say it with a straight face. Well, Pelosi has so much botox shot up in her mug that she can say anything with a straight face. But, they don't realize that they aren't helping themselves with this preachy nonsense. This is why they lost the election.

Good! I was in the NAVY and worked in I.T. Didn't do ANYTHING with live fire of weapons - until I was an E-5 with a security clearance and assigned to security alert team on our ship. This required advanced weapons training and then 2 times a year to the Navy range to qualify - AND - get to shoot all kinds of cool guns.

I worked night shift and was married .... it was so much fun going for training whenever they had it I would tell my wife it was mandatory ... then go to the optional ones.

Recently, after many years away from it, I have taken up shooting (pistols) again. Amazing how much comes back to you although it has been 35 years since I actively shot guns. My buddies who have handguns and have been shooting for years (but have not taken any training) are a little intimidated by my accuracy compared to theirs.
