Looks like the insurance companies are getting tired of paying to rebuild after all these Global-Warming-induced hurricanes.

My current company just sent a bill for $4500, last year was $2800. Plus I have a separate $8500 hurricane deductable instead of the $1000 on the policy.

Because the cost of living, especially taxes, is SO much cheaper in Commiefornia.

And, unlike you, we have a Governor who still believes in freedom.

Good luck if anything ever happens... For $600, you must be living with ADog in the van.

My escrow went up $1000/year due to the high cost of rebuild. Policy is fairly conservative, but I think they're just reacting to inflation in materials and labor.

Let's compare the sum of homeowner's insurance and property tax bills. And what is your state's income tax rate? Ours is 0%. Our insurance company isn't dropping us either.

Ours is $4,700/yr. That includes flood insurance that we weren't required to have, but opted to get.

According to one source, California has the third highest overall cost of living, trailing only NY and HI. Florida's Cost of Living index is 64% of California's.

Oh, and CA also has the highest rate of homelessness in the U.S.

Old news.. A lot of major companies flat-out dropped coast counties in NC years ago.
That's ok I was tired of my rates going up to pay for million dollar houses at coast getting destroyed.
Those companies that did stay raised coastal rates alot as it should be.

Bully for you. I guess you're not in the hige swaths of ZIP codes where insurance companies are going bankrupt and/or dropping customers like flies. Oh, and I guess your house isn't worth $1.4 milliion either.

Remember i lived in Louisiana. And my oldest son was born there. Don't compare the most corrupt state in America to any other state. Louisiana has been run by Democrats for centuries with the most corrupt politicians ever.

The reason California has the highest rate of homelessness is we have 40 million people here. And 75% of the homeless are from other states because of the weather.

And if Florida is such a great place to live why can you get a nice home for 300k which is basically a down payment here? My son just sold his home in Santa Monica. it was up for 10 days. He got 210k more than he asked for. Homes where i live are never on the market more than 3 weeks with people bidding on them most are from out of state. Got your a/c running for the next 7 month? My utility bill for gas averages $25. My electric around the same. What's your's run?

You Commiefornia peeps sure get defensive.

You'd have a great state if you stopped electing communists and socialists from Governor to Mayor.

$300k doesn't get much here either. The closest house to us currently for sale is half of a duplex, 1,800 SF, with a one car garage for $975k. There are shitty parts of FL where you can buy a house for $300k. The same is true for CA - but you already knew that.

And we still have a Governor who values freedom.
