How much cash do you keep at home?
I got a small check from doing some side work so I figured I'd cash it and add it to my stash of cash at my house. This is "emergency" money for situations where I need cash and can't write a check, run to the bank, etc... I might use it once every few years. Day to day I never use cash.
I have about $600 cash on hand. Curious what the norm is around here... |

If I had a safe, I'd probably keep more. Mine is "hidden", but wouldn't be that hard to find if people had the time to go through my things.

I know several "Cash is King" people who keep a lot of cash on hand just in case they want to buy something immediately.
I also know "The end of the world is coming" people who think the banks and everything else will suddenly stop working and they'll need cash to survive. |

I keep a decent stash.
A couple years ago I had a tree split and it was close enough to the house that I was concerned. Tree guy couldn't get to it for two weeks, until I said I had cash in hand. They were there the next day.
