...but it's been a couple of years (at least; maybe longer) since we got the old group together and did anything centered on being Corvette owners, as far as I know. Family, children, work pressures, other hobbies.

The general lassitude of long-time members may be more apathy-related, or "I just have other interests now"-related.

Thoughts? Have you noticed a slump in participation in your local events?

I've long said, and posted, that events ebb and flow. But the admins of a forum sponsoring an event can, and in this case (IMO) have, kill it alot quicker than it normally would ebb.

I do remember that event you mentioned! That was the first time I met you, as I recall.

Local events are the same as national ones, they ebb and flow. Big clubs though usually have enough new members coming in and new officers planning things, to make up for older ones leaving, so they can stay even on their participation. With CF, though, the admins/those in charge are stagnant, and just having new members isn't apparently enough to keep events going.

Other than a couple isolated instances, I also don't really blame CF Admins for ruining the event.

It's been steadily declining since CI-6, and the last one I attended, CI-10 was enough I lost interest in it too.

Despite being perma'd...I'd still go back if the event was anything like it was around the CI-5/6 era.

But now that it's dwindled to this, and the fact so many of the "CI regulars" are now calling the Barn home...I don't see any possibility of that event ever recovering.

I'd be extremely surprised if this isn't the last year of CI.

A forum doesn't make an event - the people do. I'm thinking the 1st annual Vette Barn Raising is going to be a blast and will only get better each year.

I still think the admins set the tone, and we went from the fun of Wireless pictures, as an example, to those type pictures not even being allowed on that forum. Restricting the fun online causes disgruntled members who find elsewhere to play, including their travel/partying time.

I am actually rather surprised that CF and the NCM both decided to continue with CI for this year.
