When we can arrange it, we have one of my daughter's best friends stay at our house when we are gone. $50 to come here after work, play/walk Belle, feed her dinner, hang out with her for the evening, out for last potty and bed. Morning she takes Belle out for potty, and feeds her breakfast, then goes to work.

Neighborhood girl is our regular walker, $20 per walk, and Belle gets two per day. Total bill = $90 per day, which is about what the kennel costs us. I am good friends with the walker's father too, so he will stop by a time or two to make sure everything is going OK.

The only problem is the overnight girl is 24 years old, and has an actual life, so sometimes she doesn't want to do it.

Yeah, don't need to see murrat up to his nuts in the wife's guts like his daughter had to witness. I think she was more scared to see canuckistanians procreating than she was seeing dad plow mom.
